My first book is out and it’s called Dried Flower Embroidery: An introduction to the art of flowers on tulle. It was published in September 2021 by Quadrille/Hardie Grant.

In the first part of the book I discuss my tools and techniques, my favourite flowers for creating with and how to grow or forage and dry them. Then I’ve put together step-by-step guides to enable you to create 15 projects, from hoops for display to homewares and wearables. The book is full of tips and tricks as well as suggestions for substitutes for your floral raw materials to enable you to put your own creative spin on the projects.

It’s been such a a great learning experience to work on the book with a wonderful team of editors and designers. The book is illustrated by beautiful images taken by the very talented photographer India Hobson. I worked hard on the book during the period of lockdowns and I hope you’ll love it!

Every so often a new idea comes along that challenges conceived wisdom regarding familiar materials or methods. So it is with Dried Flower Embroidery, which guides us through stitching with dried flora to create modern homewares that are utterly gorgeous. Forget notions of difficult stitches or fusty old flowers – Prinku’s projects tantalize, thanks to her eye for contemporary design and finely honed awareness of colour when working with natural materials. Prinku has packed her book with ideas that update the concept of dried flowers for our homes. The results are fresh and modern, and speak to the zeitgeist and our renewed appreciation for nature and making things by hand. Jo Hall, Editor, Embroidery Magazine
